Automatic Release Door Flip Guard, Don-Jo 1606
All the new hotels are installing this Automatic Release Door Flip Guard because it keeps their guests safe while protecting their doors from damage that traditional security flip guards can cause. The Hotel Door Flip Guard is installed on the door frame. While a guest or homeowner is inside, they can flip the guard plate out and it will keep the door from being opened even when it is unlocked, just like a traditional security door guard. However, this one has an automatic release that keeps it from being used as a hold open stop. Where guests used to flip the guard arm into the door opening to keep it from closing and locking them out when they ran down the hall for ice--causing the door and the guard damage as they banged together--the Don-Jo 1606 Door Flip Guard automatically closes when the door does, keeping both free from damage. These are also great for use on fire doors that must remain closed since guests can no longer use the security flip guard to prop open the door.
