Choosing a Direct Fit Replacement Door Closer
When replacing a surface mounted door closer, the fastest way to find a compatible replacement is to match the existing bolt hole pattern. This lets you install the new closer without drilling new holes in your door or frame.
How to Measure
3 measurements to find your direct fit replacement
Horizontal Holes — The distance between the centers of the mounting holes measured horizontally.
Vertical Holes — The distance between the centers of the mounting holes measured vertically.
Body Width — The overall width of the closer body. Not critical, but helpful for confirming clearance around the closer.

Special Note
Non-rectangular mounting patterns
A few popular door closers use a non-rectangular mounting hole pattern and cannot be matched using the chart above. These include the LCN 4040 Series Replacement, LCN 4041, and DC40. See the diagram below for their hole pattern layout.
