Door Handing:
Most door lever sets and some other types of door hardware require you to determine whether the door
is a Right Hand or Left Hand door (most door knobs do not require handing).
Inside (room or house)
Outside (room or house)
- You simply stand Outside the room or house facing the door.
(It does not matter if the door swings in or out.)
- If the hinge is on the Right, it is a Right Hand Door.
- If the hinge is on the Left, it is a Left Hand Door.
A note about Handlesets with door levers: Even though the lever is on the
inside of the house, you still stand outside of the house
to determine door handing.

Single Cylinder and Double Cylinder Deadbolts:
What's the difference?
A single cylinder deadbolt is keyed on the outside and has a
turn lever on the inside to lock and unlock it. A double cylinder
deadbolt is keyed on both sides. A key is necessary to lock and unlock
it on the inside. A double cylinder deadbolt offers an increased level
of security in the event you have, for instance, glass sidelites that an
intruder could break, reach through and unlock your door by
turning the lever for a single cylinder deadbolt.
If you choose a double cylinder deadbolt and keep your door locked,
you will need to keep the key in the lock, or readily accessible, in
the event of fire or other emergency that would require quick exit.
When you leave your home, you could simply remove the key, out
of reach of an intruder.

you order, click the "Keyed Alike" on every lock you order.

Door Thickness
Most door hardware fits doors between 1-3/8" to 1-3/4" thick. If your door
is thicker, you will need to specify its thickness. Please specify
door thickness in the "Additional Comments" area of our order form. You will see
"Additional Comments" during the check-out process, located at the bottom
of the page after "Payment Information." Of course, you may use
"Additional Comments" for anything else regarding your order
that we need to know.
Please Note for Handlesets:
If you have double doors and want matching hardware on both doors,
you need to order a single or double cylinder handleset for your
active door and a dummy handleset for your inactive door.
